Here’s a recipe for making cinnamon bread:

Ingredients:

  • 2 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 and 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of the flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk, water, and melted butter until warm (about 110°F/43°C), stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  3. Add the warm milk mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined.
  4. Add the remaining 3/4 cup of flour, one spoonful at a time, until the dough forms a soft ball and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the ground cinnamon and brown sugar for the filling.
  8. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle shape on a floured surface.
  9. Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the butter.
  10. Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.
  11. Place the rolled dough into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes until it rises just above the rim of the pan.
  12. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  13. Bake the cinnamon bread in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. You can check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the loaf; if it comes out clean, the bread is ready.
  14. Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely.
  15. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  16. Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top of the bread.
  17. Slice and serve the cinnamon bread, and enjoy!

Note: You can customize your cinnamon bread by adding chopped nuts or raisins to the filling if desired.
