INGREDIENTS
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup butter
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk or cream
2 C. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Buttercream frosting, see below
HOW TO DO IT :
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9×13 baking or baking dish.
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, set aside. Beat the butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Incorporate the buttermilk alternately with the flour mixture in the creamy mixture. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about an hour. Out of the oven … let cool.
Buttercream frosting
1 cup butter, smooth
1/2 cup milk or cream
2 C. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
5 cups powdered sugar
Beat the butter and vanilla until smooth. Add the sugar, alternating with the milk little by little; mix well until the desired consistency is obtained.
Variation: Use ½ cup butter and ½ cup butter instead of 1 cup butter.
