Grandma’s Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce!





Ingredients:

4 cups (8 slices) cubed white bread

1/2 cup raisins

2 cups of milk

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 tablespoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Sauce ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup thick whipped cream

1 tablespoon vanilla

How to do it:

Pudding:

Heat the oven to 350 ° F.

Combine bread and raisins in a large bowl.
Combine milk and 1/4 cup butter in a 1 liter pan. Cook over medium heat until the butter melts (4 to 7 minutes). Pour the milk mixture over the bread; let stand for 10 minutes.

Shake all the remaining pudding ingredients.

Pour into a greased 1 1/2 pint pan.

Bake 40 to 50 minutes or to the center.

Sauce:

Combine all the ingredients for the sauce except the vanilla in a 1 liter pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and boil completely (5 to 8 minutes).

Remove from heat and add the vanilla.
